Mekenzie Bittel is an estate planning attorney who focuses on helping high-net-worth individuals and families design sophisticated tax, business, and wealth transfer strategies that preserve and grow generational wealth. She regularly advises clients whose estates exceed the federal estate tax threshold on complex planning techniques, including advanced trust structures, tax-efficient wealth transfer planning, closely held business planning, business succession arrangements, and charitable giving strategies.

A Colorado native, Mekenzie moved to Kansas City during high school and later earned her J.D. from the University of Kansas, followed by an LL.M. in Estate Planning from the University of Miami. She joined Ellis Law Group to continue her work with clients on comprehensive estate-planning, tax, and wealth-structuring matters.

When she’s not drafting trusts or collaborating with clients’ financial teams, Mekenzie can usually be found on the sidelines of a basketball court or soccer field cheering on her son and daughter.
